certificationsTim Anderson

In 2001, I started training outside horses and offering riding lessons to the public. I enjoy competing in many different events both English & Western. I direct the horse to an event that best suits that horse’s confirmation and ability. I have shown at the NRCHA world finals show. I am an NFQHA world champion in team penning and reserve world champion in ranch versatility. I have won many NRHA affiliate champion titles. I have an AQHA all around title and APHA top 5 in reining. I have trained and shown an Arabian horse to an NRHA affiliate champion. I also have points or money earned competing in trail, western riding, hunter under saddle, hunter hack, jumping, barrels, poles, steer daubing, and ranch sorting. I am certified by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) as a level 4 Western instructor and level 3 English instructor. As of December 2010 I am the highest rated CHA instructor in Mississippi and Louisiana. I have coached youth and adult students to show in English flat and jumping classes, western horsemanship, trail, reining, ranch versatility, team penning, working cow horse, many other classes, and horse judging. I am a founding member and past president of the Gulf Coast Foundation Quarter Horse Association and the 2008, 2010, & 2011 President of Mississippi Reining Horse Association. I am a MS Open Horse Show Association approved judge. I have also judged horse shows in Louisiana and Alabama. I invite my students to ring steward for me when I judge to learn about horse judging.

Prior to 2001, I exhibited horses as a non pro in working cow horse, reining, & team penning for many years. I am a graduate of the Mississippi Reserve Law Enforcement Officer Academy. I am also certified by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety as a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team Member. In 2001 I turned in my non pro horse show cards when I received my mounted police instructor certification. I spent 8 years with the Jackson County Sheriff office where I was a captain and charge of training of
15 - 25 mounted officers. I was responsible for instructing the riders and training the horses in basic horsemanship skills plus crowd control, subject apprehension and control, formation maneuvers, mounted patrol techniques, handcuffing, and use of force all from horseback.

I am excited about my association with Silver Creek Equestrian Club. I am looking forward to working with Mary Jane, Missy, and the clients and students at Silver Creek.
